Rhodesia was a British chartered colony that consisted of present day Zambia and Zimbabwe, but in 1965 the ruling body of colony declared independence. Is wrong in this case as it ceased as a country in 1979 and and became Zimbabwe, I have only heard Rhodesia used by older British people or used by the British equivalent of a "red-neck".
