I also Remapped the 9 Slot to Shift in combo with the Emergency Nanite Repair, then I found myself adding this game to Steam, & using the Steam Overlay in-game from time to time. I personally Remapped the '0' Slot to 'S', & keep the 0 Slot filled with Shield Recharge Consumables consumables. Games like Dins Curse or Drox Operative buck the trend of the static. Consider Remapping the S Key as a practice Keybind Change & do something with it you like that fits your Playstyle. The games where narrative dissonance isnt noticeable are when the story isnt the focus.
Drox Operative is a starship action RPG with warring alien races. it's actually a totally wasted, worthless Keybind, because ya can turn your Thrusters On & Off with the "Thrusters On" Keybind, (Default: 'W') so ya can do TWO things with one Keybind & there's 0 circumstances where ya ever need to have Thrusters Off be a separate Keybind. Drox Operative: Invasion of the Ancients is the first expansion for Drox Operative.
The game might be the perfect entry point for players new to the 4X genre looking for a taste.
It IS your job to pick the winning side and maybe even help them conquer the galaxy if youre being nice, more importantly though is to rake in as many credits as possible, well that and build the deadliest ship in the known universe. Tip for Newbies: Don't get used to the default 'S' Keybind, which is "Thrusters Off". Drox Operative 2 is shaping up to be a solid niche title with some very smart gameplay mechanics. As a Drox Operative its NOT your job to manage an empire, you are after all the captain of a single starship.
